R&D Search Engine
Our R&D search engine uses Google's technology to search through the information on world-class R&D centres nearby.
The aim of this tool is to guide users searching for specialist information on R&D-related topics towards relevant online resources.
It works in a similar way to Google, but the results are modified to incorporate additional information supplied by the FGCSIC.
Our R&D search engine is in constant evolution and information from a variety of sources will progressively be added in order to enhance the quality search results on specific R&D topics.
- Relevance of the terms used.
- Popularity of the page (links directed to this page from other pages on the web).
This second criterion introduces "noise", distorting the results and offering links to pages that are popular but of little interest to specialised searches.
The Foundation's contribution to the search engine aims to minimise the negative impact of web sites being either too popular or insufficiently popular by:
- Drawing up quality rankings that (partially) overwrite those predefined by Google.
- Filtering the search results using criteria predetermined by the Foundation.
