Frontiers

• The Fundación General CSIC's Frontiers strategic line aims to be an open programme in terms of its topics and content. The main idea we aim to promote with this line is that of financing and promoting high impact projects with a high innovation content.

This line aims to promote lateral thinking to address hard-to-solve problems through projects whose main innovative asset is the question they seek to solve, or projects that address more traditional issues or problems from a fresh angle. The priority objectives of this line include encouraging the emergence of new paradigms, constituting the germ of new currents of research and thinking.

This type of project is often high risk, with limited possibilities of success. For this reason, these are projects that do not fit well into standard calls for proposals, which usually demand more immediate or short-term results. Frontiers aims to meet the needs of innovative minds even when their ideas are fraught with risk.
