To accompany its strategic line on Ageing, the FGCSIC has organised a public event at which it presented the various actions it will be running in this field in 2011. These include:

• The launch of the “Proyectos Cero FGCSIC en Envejecimiento” call for proposals, sponsored by Obra Social “la Caixa” and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
• A report on ageing in Spain, written by the FGCSIC Analysis Unit.
• A special issue of the FGCSIC’s science communication journal Lychnos on the topic of ageing.

Leading experts on ageing also took part in the seminar, each looking at the phenomenon of ageing in Spain from the perspective of their particular fields.
