The FGCSIC is a private, non-profit entity set up in 2008 by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) with key support from its patrons. Our aim is to promote public-private partnerships to support R&D, both in the CSIC and other public research institutions.

Our activity focuses on promoting R&D by channelling the interest of the main agents of progress towards shared goals. All our activities are aimed at achieving our overarching goal of fostering public R&D. To do so, we run specific activities in the dissemination, analysis, research and e-FGCSIC areas.

Lychnos. Notebooks of the Fundación General CSIC is our journal: a communication channel for the activities, values, challenges, targets and causes for which the Foundation works. Lychnos is a quarterly science communication journal in Spanish and English, with both print and online editions.
