Mission and Objectives

Together with its goals of facilitating, stimulating, promoting and structuring private funding for public research, the Foundation's mission also includes:

• Communicating to business and the public in general the importance of scientific research for the development and overall progress of the economy and society.
• Serving as a vehicle enabling private initiatives to perform research at public or public/private organisations.
• Performing scientific, economic or social foresight studies that identify society's needs and problems, and the research potential of the Spanish science & technology system.
• Carrying out strategic studies and defining strategies in relation to scientific research.
• Creating a structure for actors on the Spanish science and technology stage.
• Promoting and coordinating the running of ambitious research projects which are difficult to articulate exclusively in the private or public sector.
